Day 3-5: Virginia Beach, VA

As soon as we arrived to Virginia Beach and got checked in to our hotel, we went right over to go see Oma. Morgyn was greeted with a belated birthday gift and was ecstatic to receive them. As a matter of fact, she's showing Oma below how she can write her name all by herself! Oma absolutely fell in love with Morgyn and right away they had a little bond...Oma said she had a 'friend for life!'
Kheringtyn on the other hand was abit more timid, however, that didn't stop her from giving kisses! As most of us parents know, it's always a challenge to try and get a decent picture with the kids together. Kheringtyn just wasn't going to have it...

Oma spoiled us with a wonderful Dutch salad she made for us for lunch. It was very delicious, something I'm going to have to get the recipe for to make for our family someday :) Oma is 93 years old and lives by herself, bless her heart, she's a strong woman and does everything for herself. What an inspiration!
The hotel we stayed at did not have any cribs available, so we had to make do with a cot sandwiched between 2 beds. Let's just say it made for interesting bed times with Kheringtyn. Everyone in bed 'with her' made it seem like a party and all she wanted to do was crawl from bed to bed and play with all of us :)
First time meeting Aunt Audrey below.
One day Aunt Audrey took us down to the beaches of Virginia Beach. It was Patriotic weekend down at the beach so we saw alot of Navy men :) Those are some beautiful beaches too! On this day it was 95 degrees...too hot for our liking, but we didn't complain too much.
Poor guys had to do a ton of push ups for everyone in the scorching heat :(
Morgyn surfin' at the park :)

Sunday morning we got up and hit the road again,...this time our final destination, Eagles Mere, PA. This was to be the longest day of travel for us...9 hours of driving not including stops. I'd have to say though, both girls were wonderful road trippers! I didn't give them as much credit going into this trip as I should have, as I was hesitant it was going to be tougher than it turned out to be :)
