'Tis the Season

I wasn't going to get a live tree this year as the girls and I will be flying to Miami to be with Kevin on Christmas day this year, as a matter of fact I wasn't even going to buy a fake tree....then I found something I HAD to have at Michael's.

This cute little 5' "porch" lit tree was on sale for $35, normally $90 so I obliged. However, it's going to sub as our 'house tree' this year. I had it all set up before Morgyn got home from school and the first thing she asked was, "But mom, where are the decorations?" So I went rummaging thru the garage to pull out a few for them to decorate.

Cute how the bottom half of the tree got all the decorations :)

Morgyn made a 25 day ring count down at Kindergarten and this gingerbread man. I was also asked by Morgyn's teacher to make some gingerbread dough so the kids could make one BIG gingerbread man cookie in class that "ran away". I was happy to do so and the kids all thanked me with a huge card the signed and decorated.

Here the girls were in their Christmas jammies and I was trying to get a picture of them playing with the tree in the dark. I guess I need alittle more practice with my camera, with all the different settings. But I loved how the picture has little glowing specs on it.

My village I got from my grandma Gerri who passed away almost 2 years ago. I love having these memories of her in my house during the holidays, it brings back a lot of memories having Christmas up in Bellingham at her house. I also have another beautiful village that my mother-in-law has been collecting for me over the years...I took pictures of it too, however, none turned out very well. Maybe I need to enroll in a photography course? Self teaching might not be going so well....
