What happens when you mix a 1/2 lab 1/2 anatolian shepard working farm dog with a super sweet, male rottweiler doggie who decided to join the farm and get the working girl pregnant with a litter of 10 puppies??????
The LAST and cutest puppy of the litter of course!!! Last Wednesday my neighbor had shown me her adorable little puppy she just got and of course I was anxious to know where she got her and if they had anymore left???? Within minutes I was on the phone to the owner to discuss coming by later that evening to see the last female pup available! This pregnancy was not planned and she was anxious to get rid of them, so she only charged us $50!
I immediately fell in love with this face! They were all so cute, but truley, I felt like it was meant to be that we had THIS puppy! Looking more like an Anatolian shepard then some of the others in the pack, I knew Kevin would be in love with her as he and his parent's had Anatolians and loved the breed. I send pics via text message and he told me, "babe, I'm all for it,...she's super cute. Get her!" So we were in and out of the farm in about 45 minutes with a new puppy!
We drove to Petco to get her some food and a new collar, and it didn't take long to decide on a name. We had a name picked out long before we got home with her! Kevin and I wanted to call her, Chardonnay, after their beloved Anatolian Shepard they loved so much. Tucker didn't really know what to think of her,....he sniffed her a few times and went about his own business.
After a bath to get the stinky farm smell out of her, it was time for bed. First night she went back and forth between being locked in the bathroom and in my bed. We've had her 3 days now and I find that she will sleep all night if she's able to sleep with me! I get up about 6 am to let her out to go the bathroom and she does just that. So far she's been very easy with potty training,....has no problem whining when she needs to go out to pee. I have to believe that living outside on the farm the last 7 weeks had something to do with this.
I feel so bad that Kevin isn't here to see her already...as I know he already loves her cuz he asks about her everytime he calls me. He's ready to make a trip home to meet his new puppy!
Another interesting fact.....she was born on 2-2-12 which was my dad's birthday. So I definetly won't be forgetting her birthday!
We girls are all in love with her and look forward to many years of joy and happiness having her in our family!
