Preschool Mother's Day Tea

Morgyn's preschool put on a Mother's Day tea on Friday and Morgyn was so excited about having me attend. When she saw me already sitting at the table with friend Sarah, she told me that I needed to get back up so she could seat me at the other table. So of course I did, thinking we might have seating assignments, but we didn't. I just beat her there and her teacher had told them to seat their mother's and serve us our dessert. She took this VERY seriously.

As I was sitting at the table by myself, Sarah asked Morgyn if I could come back and sit with her and finally Morgyn was okay with that. Morgyn then asked me if I could like a drink, walked over to find out what mommy's options were, and came back to tell me "mom, would you like lemonade or tea?" (You could see she was trying sooo hard not to crack a smile while serving me, trying to take this job very seriously. All making it that more cute and making me even more emotional about this special time with her). She then told me where my fork and napkin was, and then came back to serve me a piece of angel food cake with fresh strawberries and vanilla ice cream!

Next the 2 preschool classes put on a 5 minute performance singing about 10 short songs about mommy's. Very cute. THen they each got to speak up and tell us why they loved their mommy's. Morgyn said she loved me because "I love my mommy because she pushes me on the swing and I love mommy because she takes me rollerskating." Morgyn was so proud to be up on the stage singing...something she's been wanting to do seeing all the other kids in the past on stage." We are all learning that Miss Morgyn LOVES to be the center of attention!

Morgyn then suprised me with a gift they made in class. A magnet/chalkboard to hang on the wall. A VERY special day it was indeed, one I'll ALWAYS remember and cherish, as this was Morgyn's first preschool event in her life. I think I only got teary eyed a handful of times,...our children grow up way too fast, and I just want to hold on to these times forever.
