Bike ride to Sebring, FL

Kevin and I took 'advantage' of my sister Tracey coming into town (to watch the girls)  when we were asked to go on a bike ride with some other riders. Kevin's friend Scott, asked us to go and there were six other riders in our group.

We took off at 8am in the morning, all meeting up in Miami. We were headed up to Sebring, FL near Lake Okechobee for their annual bike week.  It's set up just like the Oyster run back home.  I started out wearing my leather jacket as I am super dooper cautious all the time about wearing protective gear when riding, but after the first 30 min I couldn't take it anymore. The jacket came off and the sunscreen was applied. It took us nearly 4 hours to get to our final destination....sore butts and all.

We had a good time with the folks we met, but thought this was a bit too long for a first time bike ride, especially out in the heat. Here we grabbed a bite to eat, walked around for about an 1.5 hours and we were back on the road back to Miami.

I told Kevin he should get me a side car for our Harley. LOL

This was a live bald eagle. Was neat to see one up close like this.

How about that ride dad???

I've always had a love for pink Harley's!

Then I saw this bike and HAD to take a picture for my parents! Notice the saddle seat and the whip on the side? Or how about that helmet on the ground?

One of the stops our new friends always insist on stopping on the way home is this ice cream shop. Of course I obliged, it was 90*!

On the way home we could see we were heading right into a huge rain storm. We all pulled over to put on some jackets and rain gear if you were smart enough to bring it along. We ended up just getting alittle bit of the shower, but the worst of it went to the west of us! Thank goodness!

350 miles later round trip we made it home!  It was definetly a fun time and I'm so glad we went along, despite the sore butts. This is something Kevin and I don't get to do very often having kids and no babysitters.
